ABOUT

András Tibor Vizi is a Hungarian photographer currently living in Berlin, whose work explores the complex experiences of intimacy and selfhood. Born in Budapest in 1990, he studied Photography at MOME from 2012 to 2018, where he began developing his own narratives through various university projects. His master thesis focused on the techno music scene. This series became a defining part of his artistic journey, as his research in Berlin immersed him in a subculture built around the free expression of sexual identities, fundamentally reshaping his relationship with the human body and its representation.

The allure of this scene captivated him so profoundly that he moved to Berlin in 2019. Around this time, he became increasingly interested in exploring the body and self-image, which he addressed in his series Distortions. The series was first presented in Berlin in 2022 and later exhibited in 2023 at the Mai Manó House as part of the Like You & Me / Young Hungarian Photography exhibition.

In 2022, Vizi was awarded the József Pécsi Photography Grant for his project Masculine Form, which examines masculinity and sexual self-expression through a portrait series depicting male nudity. This project allowed him to further investigate the nuanced identities surrounding him through the personal stories of his models.

In his latest projects he is focusing on the untold stories of spaces where diverse sexual identities exist and flourish.

Since 2024, he has been a member of the Studio of Young Photographers (FFS) and, starting in October, participated in a workshop preparing the CAPAZINE - LET’S STAGE publication.
